Chicago - The Band BIO
Formed in Chicago in 1967, Chicago built its sound around an expansive blend of rock arrangements, brass, and jazz influences. The group first performed as The Big Thing before taking the name that became familiar to generations of listeners. Across decades of recording and touring, the band moved from energetic jazz-rock toward polished pop and soft-rock ballads while retaining its distinctive horn-led identity.
Chicago's best-known songs include “25 or 6 to 4,” “Saturday in the Park,” “Feelin' Stronger Every Day,” “If You Leave Me Now,” “Hard to Say I'm Sorry,” and “You're the Inspiration.” Albums such as Chicago Transit Authority, Chicago II, Chicago V, and Chicago 17 represent key moments in the group's long recording history. Chicago was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016 and has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, according to the supplied biography.
The band's story includes both major milestones and hardship: after founding guitarist Terry Kath died in 1978, Chicago continued, later finding renewed commercial success in the 1980s. Founding members Robert Lamm and Lee Loughnane are identified in the supplied information as continuing to tour with the group. The listed tour names are Chicago Live / The Last Real Circus Town Tour; the August 2023 Paso Robles listing is a past venue appearance, not confirmation that either tour name applied to that date.
